Their level of quality is so consistent that its hard for me, who's someone that likes a bargain, to be able to admit that they are worth the money. That's because they are not cheap. However, they will most probably outlast many of the cheaper pairs by a number of years.

So they are a good investment if you're someone who's serious about Thai Boxing and knows with some certainty that you won't be calling it quits any time soon. Anyone that's been doing Thai Boxing for a number of years will no doubt know all about Sandee and how good their products are. The Sandee pads featured in this post are straight, extra thick kick pads, but there's also Sandee curved examples available.

Versatile Striking

They are both referred to as "kick pads", but this is a bit of a misconception. Go to any Thai Boxing gym, either here in the UK, the Netherlands, and even Thailand, and you will see that these straight "kick pads" are effectively being used for every strike in the book. Punches, elbows, knees, hi kicks, low kicks, front kicks, flying knees, spinning back fists, superman punches, you name it.

If you want to see this first hand just look up some videos on Youtube of Nopparat Keatkhamtorn, who is a Two time Lumpini Champion + Thailand Champion, for a quick example of someone using these pads for a lot more than just kicking. They are extremely versatile, tough and very long-lasting.

Design

This design has the three hand / arm handles at the back. Two of those can be adjusted (velcro + belt buckle fastening) for a perfect fit. If you've ever held these types of pads for someone you will be aware of how secure they feel on the arms when taking a battering. The force is extremely well absorbed, specially for big power strikes like side-on hi kicks.

For low kicks the holder would use only the top handle, which is fixed (not adjustable like the other two), and hold it against their leg. If you're a newbie, be sure to always have the knee bent on the receiving leg to prevent either serious injury to the leg / knee, or being kicked straight off your feet.

Are they suitable

Also, if you're new to Muay Thai training, and your legs aren't very well conditioned to taking low kicks, it would probably be best to use the gyms bigger pad for low kicks. All decent Thai Boxing Gyms will have one. Some refer to it as a Banana pad, which is a much bigger and thicker curved pad that does a really good job of protecting the receiving leg from people who have tree trunk legs and kick like Tong Po from Kickboxer.

Sandee Quality

Sandee Muay Thai pads are made in Thailand using the highest quality Cow hide leather. They are used by professionals, as well as amateurs and those just starting out who want a top end product. Sandee offer a full range of Thai Boxing equipment. Including boxing gloves, shin pads, flat / curved striking pads, hand wraps, ankle supports, groin protectors, stomach / body shot protectors and shorts.

Price

The one area which can be a deal breaker when it comes to buying these pads, is their price. They are expensive. But if you want the best, you have to pay the price. However, not everyone will need such high quality pads. A much cheaper pair will do the job for someone who goes Thai Boxing one or two times a week.

Thankfully, there are some excellent, much cheaper alternatives out there for sale. Some of the RDX pads are really good for the price, but they are sold individually, so the cost will shoot up to double if you're after a pair. A cheaper option worth considering is a pair of pads from the Maxx brand. Much cheaper, and you get two for the price.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-51507418137446998662021-05-07T17:54:00.000-07:002021-05-07T17:54:50.679-07:00Top King Thai Boxing Shin Guards UK
Top King shin guards are sold in the UK. Been doing Thai Boxing or MMA for a while? If so, you will no doubt be aware of how much it hurts to clash shins with someone in sparring. Never trained Muay Thai or MMA before? Take my word for it, it hurts like hell. Don't get me wrong, after a while of training, and with numerous shin clashes under your belt, the shins get tougher and the pain becomes bearable.

Top King Shin Guard In Black

Those already competing in full contact Thai fights, or considering it will definitely have to get used to the pain if they want success. However, it's still something you don't want to experience every time you go training and do some sparring. That's where shin guards come in.

Shin pads do a great job of protecting the shin bone and front foot from heavy impact. The cushioning takes most of the power out of the strike and makes the blow much more tolerable. One thing to be aware of, though, and this is mainly regarding the cheaper pairs, is a lot of the time after an exchange of low kicks, or a successful block from a low kick attack, the shin guard will be turned to the side and won't actually be in front the shin anymore.

This will see you constantly moving it back into place to ensure its protecting the front of the leg and not the side. Needless to say, If you don't re-adjust the padding the shin is no longer protected.

Top King Shin Guards In White / Dark Flare Pattern

This is an issue with the cheaper pairs that have a big fat block of padding at the front and nothing at the sides. If you spend a bit more money on some RDX, Valour Strike (both cheap but good), Fairtex (Excellent), and of course, Top King (Pictured), this issue happens far less frequent. If at all, as these pairs, which are mostly velcro fastening, cover the front and side of the shin and foot. The padding is thinner but offers much better protection by covering a lot more area.

If you're just starting out, or more experienced and on a tight budget, I would recommend the cheaper pairs from RDX and Valour Strike as they will serve you well. If you want the best quality and know that you are in Thai Boxing (or MMA) to stay it has to be either Fairtex or Top King.

Both brands are made in Thailand (almost always handmade) and consistently produce top quality products. Their shin pads are always made from high quality leathers and really are top-notch. They also offer a massive range of different colours and designs, from red, white, black, multi-coloured and even snake-skin (not real snake skin!).

They are expensive but definitely worth the money outlay. Some people are suspicious of people selling them in the UK because there are a few fakes flying around, but there are genuine resellers who import them to England directly from Thailand. So not to worry, just read some of the customer reviews beforehand. Other names well worth checking out if you're after the best are Sandee and Twins. Venom Elite are worth a mention too. Overall, the Fitbit Charge 2 (And Charge 3) is an excellent fitness tracker that has had some key features that were somewhat lacking on the previous model improved. And as good as it is, it's not perfect by any means. What are some of the most common complaints with Fitbit's in general. Well, in no particular order, first you have the battery duration, Sync issues, and then it's the strap.

See the full range of Fitbit Charge 2 Metal Straps Currently For Sale

So many people who buy a Fitbit complain about the strap irritating the skin on their wrist. The normal strap is made from silicone / resin, and not everyone, but some do find it annoying. In fact, some have even had an adverse reaction to it. However, you don't have to just sit back and grin and bear it.

There are a whole host of replacement bands available for the Charge 2 (In the UK), from pimped up originals of the same silicone material, to genuine leather and metal. The leather examples are excellent, and make the tracker look rather classy, but the metal ones provide a few extra perks that none of the others do.

Yes, to actually replace the original band they are all extremely easy to fix together. All of them just clip nicely into place, making it very easy to either attach or remove, but the metal straps require no holes to set the width.

Rather than having a clasp / buckle, they work by having a very strong magnet at the end, making it a no-brainer replacement if you're someone who has had problems in the past with not knowing if a strap will fit your wrist. And that goes for both very skinny or very thick wrists. The mesh metal replacement is basically one size fits all.

Actually, there is a small and large available, but which ever side you fall into (small wrist or big) just choose the appropriate size for your needs and you will be good to go. Other than the mesh strap, there are other metal designs for sale.

Some are heavier, curb-like in appearance. Another advantage that the mesh examples have over the rest is breathability. The thicker metal models, and especially the real leather straps have a tendency to generate perspiration build up and become quite sweaty on the wrist.

Take into consideration that a Fitness watch is specifically worn to exercise, and that sweat build up is magnified. The mesh straps are basically full of mini holes, so do a much better job of keeping the air flowing between the watch and the skin. Many colours are also available.

Of course, you have the very popular silver (pictured above), but also Black, Blue, Coffee, Gold, Rose gold and multi-coloured. In the USA, there are a few more colours to choose from. Champagne and Pink Gold are two. I'm yet to see the strap in White (in mesh) but would imagine it is out there somewhere, as White is a very popular colour with the Charge 2 (In silicone) and other tracker watches, like the Fitbit Alta (+HR), Blaze and many more.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-76943271844596962812021-02-02T09:57:00.004-08:002021-09-16T17:46:07.161-07:00The Future Of Gyms Is Uncertain
You don't need me to tell you about the effect this pandemic has had on the world. Whether you think its actually real or not is another story, and for me, a post for another blog. Bottom line is, this situation has had a dramatic effect on how we go about our daily lives. And Gyms, as well as the retail sector (and everything else other than what is owned by the 1% - which have profited massively), has been hit very hard.

When the pandemic started in the UK, to try and "stop the spread" we were told that there would be 2 -3 week lockdown to "flattern the curve". Many months and 3 lockdowns later we still don't see no end in sight. And now, there is a new invisible enemy in town. A "new strain", or mutation of the virus that is said to be more contagious than the previous strain.

"Gym Closed Temporarily"

I'm sure you've seen the same message yourself recently

So it really does seem like this "new normal" isn't going anywhere, and any hopes of getting our lives back to anything like they were before this pandemic are fast being eradicated. Personally, I don't think things are ever going back to normal. Not the normal we once knew anyway. That's why phrases like "new normal" have been coined. It's telling us all that this is our new normal, and we better get used to it.

With months of experience under our belts, and with people now just accepting a new lockdown without much resistance, we are now more mentally conditioned to this new way of life than ever, and anytime the powers that be snap their fingers, it's back into your home for you, get back in your hole. Big brother says your grounded, just like when you were a kid being grounded by your parents.

Anyway, the meaning of this post was to highlight the reality of the title: The Future Of Gyms Is Uncertain. [Update while writing this post: Apparently, according to some news reports in the UK, it's just being reported that the closure of gyms may now be permanent.] In fact, the future of everything is uncertain. So, for those who rely on the gym to stay in shape, and feel completely lost without it, you better change your mindset right now.

Through no fault of their own, Gyms can not be relied on anymore. They are seen as a high risk for spreading the virus / infection, and as a result almost all of them have been shut down nationwide. And at any point in the future, if they do happen to open again, they can be closed faster than you can say - I'm going to the gym on Monday.

If you prefer to do weights its now best to just buy your own. Take a look on eBay, Argos, Amazon, Gumtree etc. I know a lot of the big stores are now sold out of training equipment like free weights (Iron and Vinyl), benches etc due to sheer amount of people that now need to train at home. However, there is still alot of training equipment available on eBay and Gumtree, new and used.

But be warned, the prices have basically doubled. I should know, I have been selling a lot of my weights equipment at the moment, I'm more of a bodyweight / Isometrics guy, so don't really use the weights that much. And wow, the amount of people contacting me for weights, bars, benches, etc has been crazy. The bars sold instantly and I've been selling the weights off in sets of 2 x 10KGs for £40 each. They're Vinyl too, not Iron.

I've almost sold them all now. I'm going to keep a few light weights and a bar just for when I feel in the mood for some weights. What I'm saying is, buy your equipment now so that you don't have to run around at some point in the future and pay even more. With the potential of prices rising even further the more these lockdowns continue, that becomes a distinct possibility. Also, equipment will get harder to obtain because everyone who used to frequent the gym is after the basics, free weights, dumbells, bench, bars etc.

But don't limit yourself to that type of equipment. All is not lost if you can't find the basics for sale. I would recommend bodyweight exercises. No equipment needed and trust me, chances are you will feel much stronger, more efficient and agile than if you only did weight training previously. But I know some people, many people actually, love using equipment to work out.

So here are some suggestions of what to purchase to stay in shape if you can't find any weights for sale: Calisthenics frame, rowing machine, training dummy, exercise bike, Bullworker, Isokinator (reviewed here), bendi bar, pull-up bar, weighted vest, handweights, weighted skipping rope and punching bag.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-25976740793627284402021-01-01T17:03:00.001-08:002021-05-07T20:14:06.544-07:00Weighted Fingerless Shadow Boxing Gloves
If you've looked into this product line recently there's no doubt you will be aware of how many pairs of weighted boxing gloves there are out there for sale. Surprisingly, most of them have quite bad review scores. Being a relatively simple product to make, and make well, It's actually rather disappointing to read. So many of the cheaper pairs seem to have just been poorly thrown together.

One of the better pairs for sale. The 0.5 KG (1.1 lbs) Adidas Velcro Fastening Training Gloves.

Fingerless glove, add some sand or other filler for weight, and sew it all together. With these terrible quality pairs, it's really not worth the time or money to purchase a pair. You will be much better off using a heavier set of real padded boxing gloves, or using a set of 0.5KG hand weights. Personally, I use tube design hand weights. A good pair can potentially last a lifetime.

However, hand weights are slightly less convenient, and a little more unsafe when swinging tired if you're going to train at a certain class, such as boxercise, P90X or aerobics. Weighted, MMA style boxing gloves also look more trendy! Not that I care about that, but some people do. So what are the best brands to buy? Well, there are a few that stand out from the rest.

One pair is the fingerless offering from Adidas (Pictured above). They weigh 0.5KG each, have a velcro fastening at the wrist and are made from a stretchy material. I believe the material is neoprene or similar.

Pictured: The highly rated Unisex Beachbody P90X 1 Pound per hand workout gloves.

The other pair, and the pair I would personally recommend for women (men can use them too) if they were looking to buy some weighted gloves like these, would be the offering from P90X. Like the Adidas example further above, the P90X are good quality, fingerless and velcro fastening. However, they do weigh slightly less per glove, weighing in at under half a kilogram (0.45KG / 1lb) each.

And they are less bulky around the wrist when compared to the Adidas pair. Both products claim to be breathable, and they are to a certain extent. But, ironically, that is one of the reviewers biggest gripes, that their hands sweat a lot, and after some weeks / months of use, their gloves start to smell. This is inevitable though, and its nothing that a good wash or odor killing product like the Meister Deodorizers can't put right.

How much weight do you need in each glove?

0.5KG - 1KG (Max) is an adequate amount of weight for men and women.

Punching with too much weight can actually be bad for your joints. Especially if you're doing a lot of straight punches. If you have been wearing weighted gloves and throwing straight punches, extending the arm until the elbow joint locks with each strike, you may experience pain or discomfort in your elbows after training.

The heavier the gloves the more potential for injury if punching in this manner. All is not lost though. The best way to prevent this from happening without removing the exercise from your routine is to not fully lock the elbow with each strike when doing straight punches. A big majority have brand names that are widely unheard of. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the product isn't good, because in some cases they really are excellent activity monitors for the price. And most of them have the all important and widely sought after heart rate monitor. A few of the brands that stand out are Mpow, BuddyBand, Lintelek, Cospor and YAMAY. Although do be aware of potential fake reviews.

Looking at the consistency of positive reviews, its clear to see that the Letscom trackers, unless there are some fakes reviews mixed in, have some of the highest overall ratings across the whole "cheap fitness tracker" marketplace on Amazon. That includes all the brands mentioned above. This model, the Letscom ID107Plus HR - Updated for 2019 / 2020, has an outstanding review score. Here are a few of the stand-out features that buyers are most impressed with. Better touch screen, not just a button at the lower front of the display.

Very quick charging time and considerable battery duration. A full battery lasts around a week, which is very good when compared to other activity bracelets in the same price bracket and beyond. The ability to read notifications, such as a text message on the watch screen, so no need to reach for the Smartphone. Other features that users find superb for the low price is the accuracy of the Pedometer and Heart Rate Monitor. Also worth noting is the connection strength and stability of the synchronization.

Letscom ID107Plus HR Quick Specification

Pedometer (Track steps taken, distance travelled, etc)

Heart Rate Monitor

IP67 Rating (Can be worn in the rain)

Sleep Monitor

Relax Mode (Guided breathing)

Calories Burned

8 Different sport settings (more can be added)

OLED Display

USB Charging (No lead required)

Notifications (Social media, calls, texts, etc)

Music / Phone Control

Weather Forecasts (Must be synchronized)

Time, Date, Alarms

This feature-rich Letscom also has the ability (when paired to your phone) to let you know if there is a phone call and give you the option of whether to take the call or reject it. Also, due to the mobile phone to Smartwatch Bluetooth connection range being around ten meters (max), this is perfect for using with gym related equipment like treadmills, exercise bikes and rowing machines. You don't need to have the phone on your person.

If safe and secure to do so, you can leave it, paired, a good few meters away and train clutter free. Furthermore, when not training / exercising it can be used just like a normal watch. The strap is made of rubber / silicone and the fastening mechanism is a clasp, just like an average watch strap. The actual tracker unit itself is completely removable from the silicone band / wrist strap in order to charge the device via USB port. There is also the option to buy replacement bands for this model when the original starts to look a little worn out. Compatible with both Apple iOS and Android based Smartphones.

It's also available in 5 different colours which offer a good mix for men and women. Those are Red, Black, Blue, Green and Purple. Please Note: IP67 is not fully waterproof and doesn't claim to be. It just means it can withstand some water contact and still remain fully functional. Rain and sweat will be fine, but swimming, canoeing, showering and bathing while wearing this device is not a wise decision.

The ID107Plus HR is by no means a perfect Smartwatch, but for the price it's surprisingly good. Some people recommend it as a cheaper alternative to the Fitbit. And with such a great battery life, so many useful options and features, and great quality for the cheap price, it's not hard to see why.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-21768168023906758612020-07-26T15:58:00.001-07:002021-09-17T19:28:30.450-07:00Feiyue Martial Arts Tai Chi Wushu Shoes UKLightweight, simply styled, and with an excellent grip, Feiyue Wushu Training Shoes are a great fit for many types of martial arts, and other forms of exercise. A few of those include Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Taiji and Tai Chi. These training pumps are renowned the world over by those in the know, and are the chosen footwear for many martial artists, including Shaolin Monks! Some people even wear them for Parkour, and also as a cheaper alternative to the many "Barefoot" style running trainers that have flooded the market place of recent years.

Feiyue Wushu Lace Up Pumps have an extremely slim sole. So, going from wearing a normal pair of trainers to a pair of Wushu's will feel very strange to begin with. There is a mini transition. However, that strange feeling doesn't last long, and your feet will feel at home and adapt rather quickly. There's not really much to these shoes. The materials are used sparingly.

But that's one of the main reasons why they are so popular for the above mentioned activities. And for many more not listed here. The sizing is measured in European sizes, and by most accounts they are true to size. But if anything, for example you are normally a UK 7.5, get the UK 8 Euro equivalent, which is 42.

They are widely available in Black or White, and there's even a boot model for sale in some online stores. Other colours are also for sale, but can be a little harder to find in all adult sizes. One such pair is the Grey and Orange model.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-76530783010297438972020-07-03T15:49:00.000-07:002020-07-03T15:49:59.184-07:00Women's Low Priced Velcro Boxing GlovesWomen's Evo Boxing Gloves are an excellent choice for those who want a good quality, versatile product for a low price. These gloves can be used for many types of training classes. Kick Boxing, Thai Boxing, Boxing and Boxercise are the most suitable. They are also perfect for training at home alone on the punch bag or doing some pad work with a training partner.
They are well suited for all types of training but not really suitable for competition. These EVO boxing gloves, with their pretty butterfly design are Velcro fastening and made from Rexine Leather. This is not real leather. Some people may want real leather, but others, like Vegans, prefer faux leather. The padding is a mix of foam and GEL, so they do a good job of safeguarding the hands.

Ideally, you should wear hand wraps with boxing gloves to add more padding and stability. This adds an extra layer of protection. However, the padding in these gloves should be adequate for most people to be able to just put them on and get training. Note: Always warm up properly to minimize the risk of injury. Want more padding? Order a bigger size. They are available in sizes (weights) from 8 Oz - 14 Oz.

The bigger the size the harder the workout will be. Your shoulders will feel the burn quicker when wearing heavier gloves. If using them for bag work I would recommend the biggest gloves possible. In this case that's 14 Oz. This ensures a high level of padding and will give you a harder workout. However, this will not be for everyone. People new to this type of training should probably go for 10 Oz - 12 Oz.

Women's Evo Fitness boxing gloves make a great companion for getting in shape while training at home. For the price they are a great buy. Looking for unisex boxing gloves that are just as cheap as these? Check out the Lonsdale 14oz, which are available in Black, Pink, Blue and Red.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-17064171278464127862019-10-17T12:32:00.001-07:002021-05-08T14:00:53.399-07:00Classic Manny Paquiao MP T-ShirtThere are a lot of Manny Paquiao T-Shirts out there with various designs but this one is in the original classic Pacman styling. And so is Mayweather Jr. Will Mayweather and Pacquiao fight again. Who knows, and to be honest who cares. They already fought 5 years too late the first time.

It wasn't a very entertaining fight so I don't think the fans, whether that be Pactards or Flomo's (I couldn't help myself) are really that eager to see it happen again.

In the 1970's and 80's it wasn't just the UK, but most of the western world that was impressed with this new device called the Bullworker. Back in those days it was considered as a real challenge to the people who thought they were strong to try to compress it in all the way. I actually remember a few occasions when I was young, where all the men would be putting themselves against each other, in a fun way, to see if anyone could actually close it all the way.

Pictured: The newer model Bullworker Bow Classic 36" (UK Link here)

I think there was only like 1 or 2 people who could successfully close it all the way. Most could close it if they directed one hand / arm toward their knees as this made it much easier to push down at an angle and use all their strength. But holding both arms out evenly in front and pressing it all the way was difficult. Some people say that the original Bullworker was tougher to press all the down than the newer models.

But with their being quite a few new models to compare to, the reviews on how they compare to the classic are quite mixed. I mean, to name some, there's the Bullworker X5 (+Gold Pack), X7, 20" Steel Bow, The Bullworker 36 Inch Bow Classic (Now back in stock), and then there's quite a few alternative products like the heavy-duty press exerciser and the Retrociser, both of which are basically Bullworkers made by a different company.

Can you get fit from only using a Bullworker?

I always recommend mixing training methods and routines. Cross train as much as possible. This way you don't get bored so easily. It's always best to keep things fresh and more exciting. But yes, you can get fit from only using the Bullworker. However, I would, at minimum, do some form of heart working cardio training to go with it, such as running / jogging, or swimming. If these seem a bit too time consuming, or activities you can't really see yourself doing, you could substitute them for exercises like Burpees or skipping with a rope that has weighted handles.

Those two will be decent substitutes, but some form of running is always recommended, as it really cleans the cobwebs out of the heart and lungs. I know its daunting to some people who haven't run in a while, but start slow and work your way up. Your stamina will soon improve massively. Any of the exercises, coupled with the workouts the Bullworker will provide, is enough to reach a good level of fitness, stamina and muscle tone.

Which one should you buy?

Well, that is totally dependant on what type of person you are, and what your budget is. If you're one of those people who can't stand to own a piece of equipment that someone else has used extensively, or you don't want to touch something that has been stored away in a loft or shed for a few years, and shows some wear, then buying a used second-hand original Bullworker from eBay is probably not the choice for you.

I say this because the original model is no longer produced, so used is the only option. You may get lucky and find one for sale online that was never used, but you may have a long wait and would most probably pay more than you would for one that shows some age. If you don't want to spend much money and could learn to live with the little sacrifices a used, but original version comes with then take a look on eBay, as there are many being sold.

For the people who don't mind spending the extra few quid and want to unravel a nice shiny new Bullworker that's brand new in the box and has a lovely smooth operation, the newer models are actually really good. The two main ones are the 20 Inch Steel Bow and the 36 Inch Bow Classic. With the two being the same price in most outlets it makes sense to go with the bigger version.

The smaller Steel Bow does have the advantage of being more portable and easy to carry around, and is also more family friendly in the way of it being much more manageable for other people, such as older / younger women and men. Another good thing about the newer models is that they are adjustable. Both the Steel Bow and Bow Classic come with two different springs, each with different resistance levels and can be easily changed to suit the desired resistance level or ability of the person using it.

A viable competitor device

If you want something that you can take with you when on the road, the Steel Bow is most probably the best option due to its smaller size. It also comes with a carry bag. However, being 20 Inches in length, it's still not the smallest piece of training equipment to be lugging around. If you want something much smaller (handheld), just as well made (if not better), and originally made by the same inventor (Gert F. Koelbel), the Isokinator, which is talked about here, might be worth looking at.

However, be warned, it's a great device, but it makes the newer Bullworkers look cheap to buy in comparison. The Isokinator is basically double the price (at its cheapest with the classic model), which can be way out of many people's price range. Some models of Isokinator, such as the Green Giant, are around 3 times as expensive in the UK, USA and Germany (Some of the main markets for these products).

But just like the Bullworkers, old and new, it is an extremely well made and long-lasting product. So you will definitely get your moneys worth. The rest is up to you with how motivated you are to do some training. Either of these products (their full ranges) can and will put up with whatever you can throw at it, and still be sitting there waiting for more.

If you want something even smaller, more portable than the rest, and don't need the high level of resistance the other products provide, the Iso-Bow may be a good fit for you. You can do tension / resistance workouts with this little pocket-sized training aid, but its main focus is on stretching / flexibility exercises. It's a great item for helping a person get, or remain supple. And it's not only the cheapest and the easiest to conceal, but also the most simplistic out of all the devices offered by Bullworker_UK.

Update: Due to the current situation (Quarantine, Gyms closed etc), I think rather than spending a lot of money on equipment (Both the Bullworker and Isokinator are expensive), it's a good idea to save some money and go with a home workout program that offers a step by step guide and can be done at home, with no expensive equipment required. Two that are well-know to bring great results are as follows:

The Stay At Home Exercise Plan. No training equipment is needed for this program, as its primary focus is on using bodyweight. There's also some great stretch-related training methods for staying supple and flexible. A complete 10 week training program consisting of 3 x 30 minute a week. #nogymnoproblem

Alpha Home Workout System. Again, training equipment is not necessarily required, but this one not only focuses on natural bodyweight exercises, but also weight / strength based training.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-29645338628498878472019-08-12T20:39:00.000-07:002019-08-12T20:39:00.945-07:00BuddyBand 2 Fitness Watch ReviewSome of you may remember the first model of the BuddyBand, and those who do will most probably have fond memory's of it. The original BuddyBand was a great product and the second model is considered by many to be just as good. If not better. This product is not just an Activity Tracking watch with phone sync. It can actually be taken apart and used without the wrist strap / bracelet. You can carry it in your pocket, hold it, or attach it to your belt line.

The Fitbit range are mostly great products. However, due to so many complaints regarding the poor battery life of some of the chargeable Fitbit models (known issue / fault), the BuddyBand 2 makes a good alternative because this is one of the areas in which it performs extremely well in. A question that gets asked a lot: Can you change the battery in the chargeable Fitbit's. No you can't. However, you can send the tracker back to the company and they will either fix, replace or offer you a discount on a new one. Earlier models took normal button style battery's, which were very easy to replace. This item has a battery duration of between three to seven days. How long it lasts largely depends on how many options / features you are using simultaneously. There are no reviews that have anything bad to say out the battery life, so that's a good sign. And compared to the Fitbit, it's considerably cheaper to buy.

It needs a Smartphone with Bluetooth 4.0 installed in order to sync properly. A lot of mobile phones (Smartphones) these days are running Bluetooth 4 so for most people this won't be a problem. Just check first before purchasing this item if you have an older Smartphone. It's compatible with Android and Apple (iOS) based phones but not with phones that are installed with a Windows operating system. 3 colours are available: Pink, Black or Blue.

Reviews

As mentioned on this blog numerous times about fake product reviews (review here | review here) when talking about fitness trackers (The issue goes far wider than just fitness trackers), I am happy to report that the reviews for the BuddyBand2 do seem genuine. It has an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon. Own this model and have something you want to add? 3 Month Exercise Guide Training Course Book. The Bullworker looks like a very basic piece of training equipment. With all the new exercise gear out there these days, most people look at this contraption as old and obsolete. But, truth be told, resistance training, no matter the year, is always going to be relevant, and very effective.

And that's one of the main reasons why the Bullworker is still being made and sold in considerable numbers still to this day. For a simple looking device, it's almost comically capable of training so many different body areas and muscles. Including the trapezius muscles (Traps). Want to read more about the original Bullworker and some of its similar products? Click here.

If you already own one, or are thinking of buying one, you will be pleased to know that there are a lot of informational products that show a lot of different exercises the Bullworker is capable of performing. There are eBook guides, wall charts, the original manual, and quite a few books, such as theBullworker Bible and this one (now 2 in 1), The Bullworker 90 3 month progressional training course.

Where's The Free Guides?

A lot of these products do have some demand attached to them. As a result, the original manual / handbook, other physical and some non-physical books (Kindle), are not free. However, if you don't want to spend any money, there are some eBooks that you can download for free. Furthermore, if you take a look on Google Images you will find many different types of image charts (info graphics) that you can freely download for personal use. Some of them are really well put together, illustrating some of the many different types of body exercises the Bullworker can perform.

I Got Doe To Spend

But if you're looking for something with more solid guidance, or to create your own "before and after" muscle definition results, The Bullworker 90 is certainly one of the books you should consider taking a look at. It offers a complete Bullworker training program. A 90 day course which gets more intensive as time goes by, with new exercises being included as you get further into the training course. The good thing about this book is that it doesn't matter what model Bullworker you have. It could be the old school original, or a more up to date X5, X7 or Steel Bow®.

As long as it's from the same family of devices, it can be effectively used to complete the 90 day (12 week) training course. In case you were wondering, you can't use the Isokinator with this guide. But there is similar training related material out there for the Isokinator, as well as training videos. And although I would say the Bullworker is the more effective piece of equipment out of the two (just my opinion), both can hold their own as far as mobile fitness devices go.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-39095666679904257572019-05-16T12:25:00.002-07:002021-01-17T19:17:04.358-08:00Bullworker And Alternatives For Sale

I bet there's quite few people old enough to remember the classic Bullworker. When it first came out in the 1960s, which was a bit before my time, it was a revolutionary piece of training equipment. And not just for upper body exercises either, but also for leg exercises.

Pictured to the right: The Retrociser RV5. A decent alternative to the original Bullworker.

Take a look at the Bullworker training PDF charts / books, new or vintage, and you will see that there are lots of exercises that train many parts of the body. Most, if not all, are still relevant today. It's considered as old school Isometrics / resistance training.

I know there are some people that have visited this post who wanted an alternative to the Bullworker, rather than an identical device that's just cheaper to buy, but still looks and performs the same as a normal Bullworker. Well, due to the current situation (Quarantine, Gyms closed etc), I think rather than spending a lot of money on equipment, it's best to go with a home workout program that offers a step-by-step guide, can be done at home alone, and with no expensive equipment required. Two that are well-know to bring great results are as follows:

How To Build a Classic Physique. This program is all about old school training. Focusing on the methods used by the strong men of yesteryear, How To Build a Classic Physique is perfect for those who want to build muscle and definition in a natural manner. Give it a look.

The Stay At Home Exercise Plan. No training equipment is needed for this program, as its primary focus is on using bodyweight. There's also some great stretch-related training methods for staying supple and flexible. A complete 10-week training program consisting of 3 × 30-minute workouts a week.

Alpha Home Workout System. Again, training equipment is not necessarily required, but this one not only focuses on natural bodyweight exercises, but also weight / strength based training.

These days the original Bullworker has been replicated by a few of different companies. There are products in the marketplace that are basically identical to the original Bullworker, with the only noticeable difference being the brand name. If you want to see the original version of Bullworkers for sale just take a look on eBay, they are available to buy. Especially the X5 model.

Prices online can be surprisingly high for second-hand examples. You're probably better off looking in your local classified Ad listings if you want to save some money. If money isn't an issue, and you want the best new model currently for sale, the Bullworker 36 Inch Bow Classic is the one you want to be looking at.

This model can be found for sale here in the UK | And here in the USA (UK + Worldwide).

Of course, almost all of them bought second hand will be in a used condition, but you may get lucky and find one that was found in a shed that is still in its genuine packaging and has never been used. But unless you're a die-hard "I only want an original Bullworker" type of guy, why would you need to search high and low when there are products out there, which are brand new, that look and do the exact same thing the vintage Bullworker and green ended Tensolator does. One valid reason is the money saving that can be made from buying a used example. They can be picked up cheap.

If alternatives or used originals aren't enough to quench your Bullworker fever, I should add that the genuine Bullworker is still being sold today. It has gone through some changes over the years to keep it rolling with the times, but overall, it is still the same product. If not a bit better. There was a version being sold in Argos (UK), but I believe it has now been sold out / discontinued for sale. Overall, the review scores for this type of equipment, regardless of the brand, is always high. People love them.

The newer models appear to be more easily obtainable in the USA, as the main distributor that sells them is American based. In the UK, there is a stockist of the original product, the Classic. And also the Steel Bow version + Extension, but they are fairly expensive. If you don't care about the price give a website called sport-thieme a look. Or take a look on Amazon.

However, there are some cheaper alternatives are being sold on Amazon, such as the Retrociser® RV5, and another one just called the Heavy Duty Press Exerciser (Both pictured and both sold out at the moment). So it looks like the design must not have been protected by a patent. Either that or the main patent has run out / expired. And I presume that as long as manufacturers of similar products are using a different name (trademark protection), it seems as though they are allowed to use the same general design.

How effective are these contraptions in 2019 / 2020

Resistance training will always be very effective, regardless of the year. It's still just as relevant now then it was decades ago. Only difference being we now know much more about the body, and have many more training aids at our disposal. So in 2019 / 2020 there is so much more choice available.

With that said, Bullworkers and similar products are still effective tools for resistance training. They can work as great all-in-one, or many-in-one exercise companions for those who travel (it's very portable), have little time to spare, or individuals who want to train at home and want that one extremely durable product which can easily and effortlessly become a key part of their training regime.

Although a chart is included with most of these products, so you won't be stuck for ways to use it, the more creative you are with this device, the more muscle groups you can potentially target.
While these may not cover the same exact muscles due to how versatile these devices are, a free and natural alternative is the timeless 3. Press-ups, Dips and Pull-ups. Add sit-ups and running to the group and you have most of what the average man or woman needs to stay in good shape. No expensive Gym memberships which don't get used that often to worry about either!

You wanted a reliable Fitbit that was suitable for water sports like swimming, surfing, canoeing and even triathlon training. Well here it is. This Fitbit Charge HR (In black) has been waterproofed by Waterfi and is guaranteed to be leak free for 12 months or they will either repair or replace. It works well for monitoring your heart rate, how far you have swum (might be a little less accurate when compared to walking / running), and energy used while partaking in any water related activities, including swimming.

Pictured to the right: The Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR

So how deep can it go underwater? The Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR can safely go down to 60 meters in-depth. That is impressive, and not many people will be going deep enough to push it past its limit. Unless you want to wear it while going deep-sea diving! The Fitbit HR has many features, Bluetooth, sleep monitor and even caller I.D.

If you're looking to save some money and still want a product that is waterproof, but not to the depth level of the Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR, a good and cheap alternative is the BuddyBand2. It is waterproof but only to the depth of 2 meters maximum. However, this depth level will be adequate for a lot of people. You can still swim (won't be as accurate as walking / running in terms of distance tracking), run in the rain, take a shower wearing it, and do a lot of other activities that involve water in some way. Just don't go deeper than two meters and everything will be good.

The BuddyBand2 is cheap to buy, so it is not a big cash layout when compared to the Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR. For the price point and features the BuddyBand2 is worth considering. Customer reviews for the BuddyBand2 are also excellent. You could look to buy a used Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR for a fairly low price but that comes with its own risks, like is the warranty still valid, and will you get problems with it straight away, etc.

You would probably be better off buying refurbished, but that may be more expensive than used. Plenty for sale on eBay in all conditions. Correction: After searching eBay consistently, there are no Charge HR's that are waterproof, only the normal, non-waterproof versions (amongst other models) are for sale in abundance in all colours, teal, plum etc. See the link below for a real Waterfi'd HR!

The Waterfi Fitbit Charge HR (Now obtainable in the Fitbit Charge 4) is basically the same as the normal Charge HR (completely wireless operation with mobile phone sync) except its also waterproof. One thing is missing. In order to make the HR fully waterproof the ability to calculate floors, which is done by the altimeter in the device, had to be eliminated.

Battery life is really good on the HR with a full charge lasting between 3 - 5 days. The battery is internal (built-in) on the HR, so unlike some of the earlier versions you won't need to buy replacement batteries every six months.
Personally I love the stuff. It smells wonderful and is very effective. Very warming. Almost like deep heat cream. Can be used before training (to warm up the muscles), and after training also to help muscles feel soothed and relaxed from aches and pains. Great oil that's used the world over.

Namman is a good brand for thai oil. Be careful! If you use some of the oil, don't go to the toilet before washing your hands first. If you don't wash your hands and end up going to the toilet, you may end up with a burning pee pee! It's happened to me several times.

And also, if you spill some in a bag or anywhere else it will take a lot of cleaning to remove the smell. It's a nice smell though, so that's a bonus. Contains Ingredients: Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, Alcohol, Polysorbate, Eucalyptus oil and Liquid Paraffin. This product now seems to be sold out. However, there is a similar oil which is also highly regarded as excellent. That is, Tiger Balm Liniment.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-55473475765643040722019-04-10T18:59:00.000-07:002019-08-05T19:37:57.899-07:00Get Fitbit Battery Replacement HereWhere would all the Fitbit freaks be if Fitbit never allowed for the unit to have a replacement battery. Most would be annoyed if the Fitbit had an internal battery that could be charged but never be totally replaced. Not easily anyway. Kind of like Apple iPod's and iPhone's, etc. And we all know what happens to those types of lithium batteries after several hundred charges.

They lose their ability to last longer than a day or two. Actually, that's being generous, they barely last the day. Thankfully, Fitbit were smart in that regard and did make some of their products so that the user could replace the battery easily themselves. This is referring to the earlier models, where Fitibt's were powered by coin style batteries.

However, that was early in Fitbits, the good old days as some like to say. This has now changed with the newer Fitbit Charge, Charge HR, and many other models. Fitbit have followed the way of the new world, where everything has to be conveniently "built-in" and now have an internal battery that can be charged up. Unfortunately they are not easily replaced and have many complaints due to how quickly they run out of life after just a few months of continuous usage. It a common issue with these Fitness trackers.

As a result there are many people who are looking for a replacement battery. They are out there for sale, but a lot of them are loaded with cheap quality cells and don't last very long. There are some, though, that are decent enough to make it all worth while. When I say "all" I mean buying the battery, opening up the Fitbit and making the swap over. It's not very hard to complete, but some technophobes won't feel very confident in performing the operation. Give it a go. It's really easy. Anyway, it's your call.

A bit about the Charge HR

The new Fitbit Charge HR also has other options like the ability to sync the device to your Smartphone and have caller I.D, and a bar code reader for food products. You can also send your exercise results and goals to people online. Talk about being connected! How about a sleep spy? You got it, it's included! GPS? That's not an option on the HR model, but is available on the Surge model.

Fitbit Battery Precautions (flat coin type)

The battery in the normal Fitbit (coin type) lasts about half the year. After that time period it will need to be replaced. Possibly in a hurry, too, because if you don't replace it before the fast draining battery already in the unit dies, you could lose your stored information. So as soon as the battery shows as being low on the screen its best to buy a replacement straight away. Whats the best battery for the original Fitbit? That has to be the Original Coin Energizer CR2025 3 Volt Lithium Battery. Hope this post helped you out -YakamozsaatiUnknownnoreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-64999742992836556272019-03-21T16:40:00.003-07:002021-02-16T12:47:38.499-08:00Isokinator Green Giant - Worth It?When people take a look at the full range of Isokinator's they usually make a beeline for the biggest and baddest model available. That is, of course, the Green Giant. However, the one thing that quickly stops people in their tracks is the price. When they find out that the Green Giant is not that far away from double the price of the Classic model, they make a hasty retreat and are happy to make do with the Classic model for a while. This is actually the smarter option for most people. Especially for those who have never owned or used an Isokinator before.

The Classic is more than adequate. It's maximum resistance level of 90KG offers a very intensive workout. The Green Giant is capable of double the resistance level @ 180KG Max. The good thing about all the Isokinator's is that the user can set the device to any resistance level lower than the maximum, so there isn't any pressure on the user to immediately start working out at some ridiculous resistance level. It's completely adjustable. Want to train at just 10KG or 20KG, that's fine. It's a gradual process to work your way up to a higher resistance as time goes by and you become more efficient at the exercises.

That's why, technically, a total beginner could buy the Green Giant and get a long just fine with it. Don't be put off by the higher maximum resistance level, because the user never has to train at that pressure level if they don't want to. Truth is, the only real difference between the Classic Model and Green Giant, other than the slight differences in the design and the price, is the maximum resistance level. This makes the Classic model much more suitable and affordable for beginners.

The Green Giant is really for more advanced users. The individuals who have done their time using the Classic, have conquered the full 90 Kilograms and are ready to take the next step by increasing the intensity even further by upgrading to the "Beast". These individuals also know, from owning the Classic, that they like what the device offers, are dedicated with the training routines, and will get their moneys worth from many years of continuous usage.

Someone who's never used an Isokinator before might train with it a few times and just not like it. So its best for the novice to start with the cheapest model to begin with and see if they get along well with the device and the exercises. Watch some of the online training videos to see what the device offers before committing to purchase. Isokinator's resale value holds very well, so if you do decide to sell yours as used on a website like eBay, it will fetch a decent price. They rarely come up for sale second-hand as people tend to hold on to them.

So, is the Green Giant worth purchasing?

Well, in terms of quality, and excellent customer reviews, it's definitely worth it. Build quality is superb throughout the whole range. But more importantly, on the matter of whether its worth it for training purposes, as mentioned above, for experienced users who are now finding the Classic's highest resistance level no problem to work with, then yes, it is worth upgrading if you are a dedicated Isokinatorist. For the beginner, the Classic model makes so much more sense.

The only downfall, however, is that if the beginner does buy the Classic and ends up really liking it, they more than likely will, at some point, want to upgrade to the Green Giant. So ultimately they will end up buying two Isokinator's. Whereas, if they just went straight in for the Green Giant, they would save money in the long run. Because in doing that they then own just one Isokinator, which just so happens to be the biggest and baddest model. This way they never need to upgrade.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-34833660870899034402018-09-08T18:54:00.001-07:002021-02-08T11:01:30.374-08:00Fitbit Charge 3 Review UK - What's New

The eagerly anticipated release of the new Fitbit Charge 3 "Advanced Tracker" is not too far away now, and some people are wondering whether the latest addition to the ever-growing Fitbit range is worth buying. Well, at this point there aren't many user reviews to read because it hasn't been released yet.

But going on Fitbit's claims, there are two main areas where this model has, apparently, been vastly improved over the previous model (the Charge 2). And those two areas just so happen to be the two major flaws users mostly always complain about. They are, the battery life, and of course, water resistance. Also worth pointing out, this model has full touchscreen rather than just tap that was on the earlier generation. If you don't want to wait until the official release you can secure yours by pre ordering the new Fitbit Charge 3 from Amazon UK.

The new charge 3 has a reported battery duration of up to seven days (depending on how demanding the wearer is). And while nothing new, the waterproofing is also just as impressive, offering a depth limit of 50 Meters. That should be more than enough for most people. With such a depth capability, as you can imagine, doing activities like swimming in the deep end of a pool, taking a shower, or running / biking in the rain should be like water off a ducks back for the new Charge 3. Hopefully it lives up to these claims and expectations.

The release date on Amazon UK is 1st of October 2018. On Amazon USA the release is slightly later on the 7th October 2018. However, you can pre-order the Charge 3 in advance to make sure you grab one before they sell out. Order yours soon to avoid disappointment. The Special Editions are a little more expensive t buy than the standard models, and I believe the wait to receive those models is slightly longer also. More nearer to the end of October.

A fast sell out, or a least a shortage of stock is definitely a possibility going on previous, hyped up Fitbit releases. Especially on the run up to Christmas. Not to mention after Christmas when everyone wants to get in shape after all that Xmas celebrating. Other than the main improvements mentioned above, there really isn't a world of difference between the Charge 2 and the Charge 3. Most of what is talked about below regarding features can generally be found in the older model.

Fitbit Charge 3 Features

Other than the improved battery duration, water resistance, and the added benefit of it being kitted out with the latest Fitbit technology, it also has over fifteen popular preset activity modes, like running, biking, swimming, etc. Up to date training statistics so you can better understand exactly how you are performing. Phone notifications sent directly to the Smartwatch keep the user aware of anyone making contact while they are busy training. The user can also reply with a message, but that function is limited to Android based devices. It's GPS capable so you can measure how much distance covered or how fast you are training / travelling in real-time.

The heart rate monitor can track the heart rate of the wearer throughout the whole day, and night. Keeping an eye on not only the heart rate while exercising, but even when light or deep sleeping. While on the subject of sleeping, monitoring sleeping patterns, such as how many hours of light sleep Vs deep sleep are you getting is easy to implement. The Charge 3 can even tell you how much time you have been in daylight for. Of course, it has the all important Pedometer to count steps, distance etc.

As well as calories burned, a "Reminders to move" option that tells you how long you have been sitting and relaxing is present. This works as a motivator to get you up and active. The App is compatible with Windows, Apple and Android devices.

If all this wasn't enough, there is more. Another feature it has is guided breathing sessions, and, like other models, the ability to interact with other Fitbit users and set challenges for or against each other. There's even a "Female Health" mode that can keep an eye on a woman's periods, and give menstrual cycle insights with its predicted ovulation calendar.

Is this model for Men or Women

It's definitely a Unisex device. The Charge 3 is available in many different colours, some for men and some for women. Those include: Black and Graphite, Purple with Rose Gold, Dull Blue, White (special edition) and Lavender with Rose Gold trim (Special edition). There's also after-market replacement bands available, so you can jazz it up to your own liking. With this model now being fully waterproof, and relatively cheap to buy in comparison to older Charge models that have been waterproofed by Waterfi, it makes some of the Waterfi reinforced models somewhat obsolete.

But that's great news for buyers, because they now have the option to purchase an already waterproof Charge model at retail price, rather than have to go through another company that puts their money on top of the retail price for adding their water preventing technology into the device. Update: The Fitibt 4 is now available for sale in the UK, USA and Canada.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-49453133602150563372018-01-18T06:29:00.001-08:002018-01-18T06:40:21.243-08:00Best Way To Increase Grip Strength?Obviously, the best way to increase grip strength is by actually using your grip to grab on to things. If you do this without really thinking about it, like you partake in an activity like Judo or Rock Climbing, then your grip will most probably be much stronger than the average person. In my opinion, due to so much grabbing and twisting of the Gi (martial arts uniform) some of the people with the strongest grip, and most usable in a real situation, are Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu players. But if you don't do those type of activities there are still many ways to get better grip strength. However, all of them, whether free or paid for (buying hand grips etc), all come down to one thing, and that's usage.

Practise Practise Practise. The more you actually use your grip, especially at its highest physical limit, the more stronger and efficient it will become. There are so many pieces of cheap equipment out there that you can buy which help increase grip strength. But why spend money when there are so many free ways to work on your grip strength. Of course, some of the products are quite cheap and effective, so if you want to buy something low in price to help motivate you, then that's fine.

But lets look at a few exercises you can do for free that help increase grip strength. Some of those are, pull ups, door lip pull ups / hangs (top of the door frame), holding a weight plate with just your fingers, bar hanging for prolonged periods, unscrewing tight lids / tops, manual work (grabbing, shovelling, wood work, lifting, carrying, manual screwing (no drills), certain types of weight lifting, and many many more free methods.

As mentioned, you can buy products like hand grips (many different types), the Wringer, and a whole host of individual finger exercisers, like the Gripmaster range. But really, if you are going to invest in a gripping aid you may as well buy something heavy duty that can last a long time, because with normal hand grips, there are so many complaints about them snapping after a while.

The newer models that have a little spring at the front are notorious for this. And when you consider that products like the industrial spring loaded hand grip by Senshi Japan (pictured above) only cost around £20 - £25, it makes sense to buy that because they truly do last for decades.

You could buy something like the Isokinator, which comes complete fabric cord handles that the user holds onto while training. This will somewhat work the users grip. But why spend that much money, especially if your only goal is hand strength, when there are so many other devices that can do the job much cheaper.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-58872497202288128302018-01-03T17:14:00.001-08:002021-01-04T11:13:27.510-08:00 Isokinator Price And EffectivenessNever heard of the Isokinator before? Well that's not surprising. It is a product that up until now has been operating somewhat under the radar. That's not a bad thing, and is certainly no reflection on how effective it is. Are you someone who frequents the gym and are happy doing so. If that's a yes, you probably don't need an Isokinator in your life. That's not to say you couldn't make use of it, of course you could. But its more of a product for those who don't have much time for the gym and want to fit in a basic but potentially thorough (depending how high you set the device) all-body workout in to their day within the space of 20 - 30 minutes.

The man responsible for this strange looking contraption is Gert F. Koelbel. He is the guy who also brought the Bullworker to the world, so he has a good track record. All the models of Isokinator, yes there is more than one, are capable of performing 7 main exercise routines and 28 others. But it can be used in other ways too, just use some common thinking and figure out how many other exercises can be performed with this device. There are quite a few.

As mentioned above, the routines that come with this product can give the user a heavy, or light session depending on how much resistance you want to train with. A full body workout in well under half an hour is easily achievable. This is why the Isokinator is highly regarded where portable, effective contraptions are concerned. The different models are: The Isokinator Classic (most popular), Green Giant (Best Choice), Spaceman, and the Lady.Read a full review of the Classic here.

It gives the user the ability to fit in an extensive but time effective workout into their day, no matter how busy they may be, or where they may be. This device is so small compared to the rest that it is a good choice for those who have minimal space or travel a lot and need something that can be carried around quite easily. I must admit though, when I first saw some of the exercises being performed with the Isokinator I laughed. They just look a bit funny. Maybe its just my strange sense of humour. But jokes aside, they are effective, and that's the objective, right?

How Effective

Well, just like with most products, the results are quite mixed. Some users say they are not sold, while others report a complete transformation in build and definition. So if we put ourselves somewhere in between, and use our common sense, it's clear that resistance training is one of the best ways to build muscle and become stronger. The Isokinator is a resistance / Isometric device that uses tension, measured in Kilograms, to provide the desired level of pressure that the user feels most comfortable with. Over time this can be increased. See some of the exercises in the video below and keep in mind, the objective is to keep the tension at a certain point throughout the exercise. That means constant tensing of the muscles, so its much harder than it looks.

So, if you stick with the training routines and do them regularly, of course you are going to see improvements in muscle strength and definition / toning. The question is how much. As individuals with different body types and genetic makeup, this will be different for every person. But really, as well as using the Isokinator the user should mix up their training with other activities, like running, body weight exercises (pull ups, press ups, etc), and even a martial art like Judo or Thai Boxing for complete all round stamina, strength and fitness.

It Costs How Much!?

Are you sitting down.. This is by no means a cheap piece of training equipment. But when I say that I'm not only talking about cheap in price, but also "cheap" as in the materials the product is made from. They are made from the best quality materials, some of which they use in space. Special Aluminium (AIMg3), Carbon steel, stainless steel, and there's even a pair of 24k gold plated balls. So this is not some cheaply made item which has been thrown together for a couple of quid and then sold for a massive profit. It's seriously robust and has been made to last a very long time. So for the high price tag, you get a versatile piece of training equipment that can be taken anywhere, offer the user a good workout in a small amount of time, and also comes with a 20 year product guarantee included.

All offered at a price that sounds too good to be true. Remember at the start of this review I said "Almost" has it all.. That's because there is one thing the Cospor HR definitely does NOT have. And that is VERIFIED PURCHASES. I have done you a little favour today. I've looked through all 22 pages of Amazon reviews for this item, and NOT ONE review / customer feedback is a verified purchase.

Don't waste your time with the fake reviewed Cospor, spend a bit more and buy something like the Fitbit Versa 3 (pictured above). Fitbit Versa 3 Health & Fitness Smartwatch with GPS, 24/7 Heart Rate, Alexa Built-in, 6+ Days Battery, Black/Black, One Size (S & L Bands Included)

Cospor have a few fitness trackers for sale. To be sure you know exactly which one this review is about, search for the following text on Amazon UK. "Fitness Watch,Cospor Fitness Tracker,Wireless Smart Activity Trackers Wristband Blood Pressure Heart Rate Monitor Sport Bracelet". You should find it searching with that text on Amazon UK. It has 212 (paid for) reviews as of 16th October 2017.

That means its very safe to assume that all the reviews for the Cospor HR Smartwatch are fake. And just like with another tracker model that I talked about not so long ago, the Q-YEE, I absolutely cannot believe that Amazon haven't been more quick off the mark and removed this item from being sold on their website. After all, with so many products obviously having fake reviews means that now, customer feedback, which is basically one of the main factors people rely on when deciding whether to purchase the item or not, now can't be trusted.

Out of a total of 212 reviews for the Cospor Smartwatch with blood pressure monitor, all but one rated it the full five stars. The one other feedback mentioned rated it 4 stars. Looks like the seller wanted to try and mix it up a bit but thought to themselves - I can't buy reviews that are negative, that's counter productive. However, in an attempt to not spend money on negative reviews, or even middle of the road reviews (3 stars), which they should have done to make it look less obvious, they have over-glorified the Cospor and swayed the balance far too much in the way of fake, non-verified all star positives. Big mistake.

Let that be a lesson to future potential scammers (Don't do it, man. Be a good honest seller!). Don't be too stingy, buy some bad reviews as well to mix it up so its harder to detect. But the bad news for these scammers is, unless most are verified purchases, which take more time and money outlay to buy, there will always be suspicion there. Furthermore, if you're product is terrible, once REAL customers purchase the item and then go on to leave honest negative reviews, the truth will come out in the end anyway.

So basically the Cospor HR Activity tracker has been rated 5 stars by every single person on Amazon, but they didn't actually buy it from Amazon as none of them are verified purchases. What are the odds.. How obvious does it have to be for Amazon to remove the product, and even ban the seller for buying fake reviews.

It makes me think. If the seller feels the need to do this, the actual product must be very poor quality. I bet the accuracy of certain features, such as heart rate / pedometer etc, is way off. What about the water resistance.. IP67, hmm, I doubt it. When it comes to waterproof trackers, it's best to buy one that has a proven track record, or has been purposely sealed. With IPX8 being the preferred standard.

Examples that are sealed cost more to buy but do ensure a much higher standard of true water resistance. One model that is a proven performer in this regard is the enhanced Fitbit Charge II which has been sealed by Waterfi, a company that specialises in sealing devices like fitness trackers. But be aware: To ensure a product, like an activity tracker is fully waterproof (IPX8), some features, like altimeter accuracy, will be affected.

And, it should be known that there are a few reviewers who claim the finish of the sealing done by Waterfi was rather shoddy. This could have been a temporary quality control issue because there are a lot of customers who never had this problem. But due to the Waterfi Fitbit being sold at a premium price, specially if you need a size Iarge, I would expect perfection with every item. So buy at your own risk. Still thinking of purchasing the Cospor after reading this post? Don't do it! The seller doesn't deserve your custom.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-47592332239321536792017-10-09T12:08:00.000-07:002019-10-25T09:43:55.991-07:00Q-YEE Waterproof HR Watch ReviewThe greatest fitness tracker of all time! Q-YEE!! Waterproof, built in heart rate monitor, pedometer, swanky design, Bluetooth 4.0, super long battery life and all at a price that everyone can afford. Just kidding, this isn't a review of the item itself. Thinking of buying this Smartwatch and ended up here looking for reviews. My advice. Don't buy it! Read why below.

This is a review of the reviews for the Q-YEE Waterproof Heart Rate Monitor Smartwatch. That sounds quite funny. A review of the reviews. Well, fun over, this is were it gets serious, because the news is not good. The Q-YEE has fake written all over it. The feedback is so one sided that its ridiculous. I don't care how good this fitness tracker might be (word is its totally crap), if a company has to resort to paying Amazon users to write fake reviews, what does that say about the company. Obviously, if they had confidence in their product they wouldn't have to resort to such deceitful tactics.

We see a common trend here with the Q-YEE. All non-verified feedback say its an excellent device, five stars across the board. And all the verified purchases say its a piece of junk. This is very similar to the Botimo Q8, which has also been talked about on this blog. I'm actually really surprised that this product (the Q-YEE - Q-NO) is still up for sale, as surely Amazon must be aware of all the fake reviews. Admittedly, the unreal "customer" feedback does read well, it's quite convincing. But not convincing enough. As well as some of it has been written, the giveaways are too blatant. All five stars given, all use mostly excellent native UK grammar, and none, not one are verified purchases. Even a few potential customers have picked up on it. Some have even wrote "All the reviews are fake" on this listing. That's really nice to see.

I would have thought Amazon would have pulled the tracker from being sold and banned the company from trading on their site. But no, it is still up for sale. Amazon might be late to the party you said? Not aware of the issue yet.. Well, the fake reviews appear to have started in mid August 2017, so it has been on their site for quite a while now. With all this nonsense going on it makes me think of the rest of the fitness trackers which are cheap and do have really good review scores.

Do they have paid-for reviews mixed in with the real ones.. It also makes me think that while a lot of these cheap trackers do have a better review score than many of the Fitbits out there, is it really the Fitbit, with its genuine review score, that is actually the better overall product. And the one more worthy of your money. Hmm, I'm not sure. I don't own an activity tracker.

To be totally honest, I hate them. What is happening to the world. Everything needs to be tracked and logged. There seems to be an obsession with it. From the smallest bit of exercise (Tracker wearer: "I walked 343 steps today!" lol), to calorie intake, to how fast a heart beats, to not a minutes peace due to constant updates (notifications) coming in from the Smartphone synchronized to the watch. Can't I even go for a run in peace anymore. FFS. And it can't be healthy to be wearing a constantly activated Bluetooth device that's actually in contact with the wearers wrist.

Fitness Trackers are bad enough. I know, lets automate everything. What next? Something that can turn a light on for me.. How lazy, dependent and comfortable do people want to be. Sadly yes, this already exists. It's called the Amazon Echo (Alexa). There are many others out there too. I can't believe people actually embrace this technology and think its great. I'm old school, and these things do not sit right in my world. If I want a light turned on, I get off my a** and turn it on.

Not to mention the security / privacy concerns that come with such a device. Apparently, these types of devices listen to, and record everything in the location where they are placed in. So, it gives you (not me) a little of what you like (wow, I don't have to turn the music up using my finger anymore, what a relief), in exchange, you have just let a spy / hackable device into your home. What a trade-off.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553069376899922943.post-47834184819837282722017-02-19T18:22:00.000-08:002017-10-09T09:56:17.431-07:00Botimo Q8 Fitness Tracker Quick ReviewOn paper, or should I say on the screen, it looks like the Botimo Q8 Fitness Tracker has many glowing reviews. Most people are saying all the right things. Such as, oh, it's just what I need. This device is the best, couldn't have hope for a more accurate tracker, etc. But on closer inspection, especially when looking at the reviews on Amazon, you can see that ALL the positive reviews are NOT verified purchases. Not one is a verified purchase.

As of writing this, the reviews that ARE verified purchases are all negative. So, going on this, it would be safe to assume that someone has paid for people to write these unverified reviews. Perhaps a few dollars per review. For the non-aware potential buyer, seeing some excellent reviews will gain their trust and push them to actually buy the product. What, you didn't know that some sellers pay people to write fake reviews.

Oh yes. Paying for reviews is big business. And it stretches far wider than to just fitness trackers. From Apps to electrical products, right down to website hosting, it is all over the place. However, once you pick up on it and see it a few times, you soon become wise to it. Although, the more reviews a product has, the harder it can be to spot. And not so fast. The unfortunate progression of this tactic is that verified purchases are not even safe anymore.

Some sellers are even resorting to getting the fake reviewer to actually purchase the product, with all money spent by the person being reimbursed after the verified review has been written / submitted. Another way this is achieved is by dropping the price really low and / or sending the "reviewer" the money in advance. And of course, add the fee they were paying to the person to write the fake review in the first place. Usually this costs anything from $5 - $20 per post. There is even the option to just send an empty box to the fake reviewer in order to make it look like a verified purchase.

Pretty sad really isn't it. The good news is outlets like Amazon are really clamping down on this. They absolutely hate the fact that some sellers are doing this and will prosecute people like crazy if they can prove they have done this. There has been one case that springs to mind where a person selling this service has been sued.

So then, how good is the Botimo Q8 Fitness Tracker? Well really we don't know. All we know is that its a pedometer with no heart rate monitor. But if we go on what the verified purchase reviews say, it's a terrible product as they don't really have anything good to say about it. Draw your own conclusions.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
